Financial Aid

Federal Pell Grants

Pell Grants are awarded to financially needy undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's or professional degree (a professional degree would include a degree in a field such as pharmacy or dentistry.) For many students, Pell Grants provide a foundation of financial aid to which other aid may be added. The maximum Pell Grant for the 2007-2008 award year is $4050. The amount of Pell Grant a student receives is determined by:
  • the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated using information provided on the FAFSA,
  • the cost of attendance, and
  • enrollment status (full-time or part-time).

Federal Pell Grants are applied directly to students' accounts with the Student Accounts Office each semester.
