Financial Aid

Outside Scholarships

Private groups and organizations sometimes offer scholarships. Students are encouraged to apply for as many outside scholarships as possible. Students are responsible for reporting, in writing, to the Financial Aid Office any outside scholarships they receive. Receipt of outside aid may have an effect on financial aid already awarded.

This office receives notifications of scholarships from certain agencies. The Scholarship List shown below is by no means an exhaustive list of available scholarships, so we recommend that students conduct their own scholarship searches as well. There are a number of free scholarship searches, and many of them now use the Internet as their main gateway for sharing information.  Please refer to the following websites for further information:

Two local organizations that offer scholarships and scholarship information are The Finance Authority of Maine (1-800-228-3734 (from within Maine) or 207-623-3263 (outside of Maine), and Maine Education Services (1-800-922-6352).
