The Wiscasset Female Charitable Society |
Description: The Wiscasset Charitable Society is an organization that provides modest financial grants to single women and girls who are in need of support. Money from the Society's Tucker-Doggett Education Fund is available to those who live in Wiscasset or one of the contiguous towns, and who seek access to higher education courses, vocational training or enrichment in life skills. The applicant must be a female resident of Wiscasset, Westport Island, Edgecomb, Alna, Dresden or Woolwich. She will provide her name, address and daytime telephone number. The applicant will provide a written description of the proposed course or training program, including the name, address and admission office telephone number of the school or agency to which she is applying. The application should include a paragraph that explains the expected benefits of this program to the applicant. Two letters of reference that support the application should also be included.
