| Description: Award: Students selected by this program receive up to $3000 per year
up to a maximum of $12,000 for full-time undergraduate students. These loans are
automatically renewable if the recipient meets certain academic performance requirements
and submits their yearly renewal application on-time. Loans under the Educators for Maine Program can be forgiven for education
professionals who subsequently teach in Maine. Those who, after
receiving money from this program, decide not to teach, will have to pay
back the money with an interest rate determined by the program originator. The application is available online at: FAME. Deadline: Completed applications must be received by May 15. Other materials to be submitted along with the completed application are an official transcript, a listing of other scholastic achievements, a comprehensive list of awards and special honors received, and a brief essay (200 words max.) stating why a career in education is desired.
