Description: This scholarship is available for African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian student. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. and be a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore or junior intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science and planning a career in the chemical sciences or chemical technology. You need to be a full-time student at an accredited college, university or community college with a high academic standing in chemistry or science (Grade Point Average 3.0 or better) and able to demonstrate evidence of financial need according to the FAFSA. Award: Scholarship are for up to $2,500 for freshman and up to $3,000 for sophomores, juniors and seniors per academic year. The scholarships are renewable for all four or five years of an undergraduate degree so long as the student maintains a GPA of 3.0 in an approved major. Renewable forms and transcripts are required each year. How to apply: Applications may be received online at http://chemistry.org/scholars. Deadline: All material must be received no later than March 1, 2008 and should be mailed to the following address:
